Ritual abuse remains one of the most misunderstood and underreported crimes worldwide. Despite its devastating impact on victims, many governments, public servants, and even religious institutions lack the education and resources to recognize and address it properly. As a survivor, I have experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating a system unprepared to help those suffering from this hidden form of violence. This post explores the background of ritual abuse, its evolving cultural context, the dangers involved, and the urgent need for specialized support and awareness.
Understanding Ritual Abuse and Its Major Types
Ritual abuse involves systematic harm inflicted during ceremonies or rituals, often linked to occult or spiritual practices. It can take many forms, including:
Altar worship abuse: Victims are forced to participate in ceremonies involving sacrifices or offerings to dark entities.
Spirit bonding rituals: These involve binding dark spirits to humans through dedications to gods or entities such as Baphomet, the seven orishas, Mami Wata, the triple goddess, Hecate, Odin, Buddha, and Pachamama.
Occult ceremonies: These may include secret societies or cults performing acts that cause physical, emotional, or spiritual harm.
Victims often face lifelong trauma, compounded by the secrecy and disbelief surrounding these crimes.
The Historical Shift in Attitudes Toward Witchcraft
Historically, witchcraft was feared and punished harshly, with witch hunts and lynchings common in many parts of the world. Over time, society’s view shifted dramatically. Today, many witches are seen as spiritual teachers, business entrepreneurs, and entertainers. Witchcraft has become a cultural phenomenon, influencing media, fashion, and even the travel industry, where “witchcraft tourism” attracts visitors to sites associated with mystical practices.
This shift has created a paradox. While many embrace witchcraft as a positive spiritual path, the darker side of occult involvement, including ritual abuse, remains hidden and ignored. This makes it harder to identify and support victims who suffer in silence.
The Dangers of Occult Involvement for Practitioners and Victims
Involvement in occult rituals can expose individuals to serious dangers. For practitioners, dabbling in dark spiritual forces can lead to psychological distress, spiritual oppression, and harmful dependencies. For victims, the consequences are even more severe:
Physical and emotional trauma from abuse during rituals.
Spiritual bondage to dark entities, which can affect mental health and well-being.
Social isolation due to stigma and disbelief.
Lack of access to appropriate care, as many medical and religious institutions do not recognize the unique needs of ritual abuse survivors.
Victims often feel trapped between worlds, needing both medical and religious support to heal.
Who Are the Victims and How Widespread Is Ritual Abuse?
Victims of ritual abuse come from all walks of life, including children, adults, and vulnerable populations. Worldwide, estimates suggest that a significant percentage of abuse cases involve ritualistic elements, though exact numbers are difficult to determine due to underreporting and lack of specialized data collection.
Recent reports, such as one from the Times of Israel, highlight how lawmakers in Israel are struggling to address ritual abuse effectively. Members of the Knesset (MKs) are beginning to recognize the problem but face obstacles due to police and public servants’ lack of education on the subject.
The Challenge of Reporting and Supporting Victims
One of the most painful experiences I have faced as a victim in the U.S. is the absence of clear channels for reporting ritual abuse. Many government offices, law enforcement agencies, and even churches lack training or protocols to handle these cases sensitively and effectively.
This gap leads to:
Discrimination against victims who are misunderstood or dismissed.
Failure to investigate or prosecute perpetrators.
Lack of specialized aid such as counseling that addresses both spiritual and psychological needs.
The Knesset’s emerging understanding mirrors what survivors like me have long known: there must be a dedicated task force trained specifically to support ritual abuse victims. This team would help prevent discrimination, provide appropriate care, and bring perpetrators to justice.
The Role of Religious Care in Healing
Healing from ritual abuse requires more than medical treatment. Victims often need spiritual care to be delivered from the demonic influences they endure. This care includes:
Faith-based counseling that respects the victim’s beliefs.
Deliverance ministries or spiritual interventions aimed at breaking spiritual bonds.
Community support that fosters understanding and acceptance.
Ignoring the spiritual dimension leaves many survivors without full recovery and prolongs their suffering.

This is why I write to you today. Florida, and indeed America, faces a hidden but devastating crisis: ritual abuse and occult criminality. These practices are not folklore. They are real, organized, and destructive. Victims are being silenced, families are being torn apart, and communities are being infiltrated by spiritual enterprises that exploit faith, manipulate trauma, and operate beyond the reach of consumer protection laws.
Churches across our state are already crying out. Pastors and congregations are reporting the symptoms of witchcraft abuse—confusion, fear, exhaustion, and despair—symptoms that cannot be explained by ordinary means. Leaders in the Christian, Catholic, and Judeo-Messianic world—David Diga Hernandez, Jonathan Cahn, Daniel Adams, Richard Lorenzo Jr., Bishop Mar-Mari Emmanuel, and Kathryn Krick—have all spoken boldly about the realities of witchcraft and ritual abuse. Their ministries confirm what survivors already know: this is a spiritual battle with devastating real-world consequences. But it can be won.

I've already shared these concerns with Congressman Maxwell Frost, Senator Rick Scott, and Resident Commissioner Pablo Hernández Rivera of Puerto Rico in Washington, D.C. I will begin seeking further support in Orlando, with plans to expand statewide. My intention is to engage various stakeholders at both local and state levels, including community leaders, advocacy groups, and faith-based organizations, to build a broad coalition of support for this initiative. Through direct meetings, public forums, and collaborative discussions, I hope to foster understanding and encourage meaningful dialogue around these important issues.
